A delegation from Open University of Kyzylorda (Republic of Kazakhstan) arrived in Euphrosyne Polotskaya State University of Polotsk to strengthen educational contacts and cooperation between two institutions.

On the first day, the delegation visited an interactive tour of the buildings of the former Polotsk Jesuit Collegium ‘From the past to the Future’. Polotsk Collegium is a historical building that once served as an educational institution. Today, this place embodies the interweaving of epochs and cultures, as well as the importance of preserving historical heritage. For the delegation from Kazakhstan, this tour became a kind of bridge between the past and the future.

On April 16, members of the Kazakh delegation took part in the grand opening of the exhibition following the results of the International Contest of Creative Works ‘Portrait of my dear home’. Then a meeting was held with the Faculty of Civil Engineering and the Faculty of Computer Science and Electronics. Teachers shared their knowledge and experience, talked about the most relevant topics and research that is currently being conducted at their faculties, and about the learning process of students.

On April 17, the teachers of Open University of Kyzylorda delegation met with the leadership of Euphrosyne Polotskaya State University of Polotsk. The parties discussed various aspects of cooperation, such as academic exchange of students and teachers, joint research and projects, as well as the development of educational programmes that meet modern challenges and needs. The discussions were held in a friendly and productive atmosphere, and both sides expressed their readiness for further exchange of ideas, knowledge and experience in the educational and scientific fields, which will help to enrich the educational environment and contribute to the development of both universities.

On April 18, the Kazakh delegation began its day with an introduction to the historical heritage of Polotsk land. At the Spaso-Evfrosinievsky Monastery, participants learned more about the local history and culture. Then the delegation went to Saint Sophia Cathedral to enjoy the beauty of its architecture and spiritual atmosphere. Then the delegation visited the Museum of Chivalry, where it was possible to see expositions dedicated to medieval warriors. The programme finished at the Ecological Museum, where participants learned about the importance of preserving nature and the environment.

Cooperation with foreign universities has great importance, as it contributes to improving the level of qualification of students and teachers, opening up new opportunities for professional and personal growth. Participation in international projects and research expands the horizons of knowledge, introduces different approaches to education and science, and strengthens understanding and respect for the cultural diversity of the world's peoples.
