About the program
Program: Electric Power Supply
A wide set of specialized disciplines that students learn while studying at university helps the graduates studying Electricity Supply to find a job at almost any enterprise.
During their studying students get deep academic knowledge in electric power producing, transferring, distribution and consumption of the electric energy. It lets them form professional capacities including knowledge and skills in projection of separate items and electricity supply systems in general; assembling, adjustment, testing, repairing and technical services of electrical power engineering objects; managing technological processes and subdivisions of electrical power engineering type; developing and mastering of new electrical equipment and new technological processes; electricity saving technology and equipment introduction.
After graduation there is an opportunity to apply for postgraduate programs. There is a Master’s Degree Program and a PhD Program for the course «Electrophysics, electrophysical plants». Since 2018 students can choose «Energetics» program.

Practical Training
The first practical training period lasts for 2 weeks during the 2nd term of the 1st year. It functions as the introduction into the specialty. During the externship students visit electrical network enterprises, heat and power plants. They also get familiar with different types of electrical equipment and its functions.
The second practical training period lasts for 4 weeks the 4th term of the 2nd year. During the training students study the structure of electrical network enterprises, primary and ancillary energy equipment, methods of its diagnostics and control, the ways of transferring and distribution of electric power. They also learn the work of energy services on an enterprise.
The third practical training period lasts for 4 weeks during the 6th term of the 3rd year. During the training there are the instructions about with labour protection and accident prevention. It helps to determine the specialization of the future profession and to outline the direction of research and innovating activity.
The forth practical training period lasts for 2 weeks of the 8th term of the 4th year. It functions as a preparatory step for completing a diploma project. At the end of it a student chooses the topic of the diploma project and gets the approval of the supervisor for it.
Reviews
«I’m happy that I’ve chosen PSU and the Faculty of Radio Engineering studying Electricity supply. The most important thing the university has gifted is people – our group where friendship and mutual support has always been a priority. Our lecturers and staff in dormitories are those people who always listen to you, help and cheer you up. During the study period at PSU there are many ways to realize the potential in any direction. I think that such entertainments and different events are carried out only at Polotsk State University».
Igor Gil,
Graduation 2017

«When I finished school I had many different directions. I’ve chosen Polotsk State University, and I do not regret. Studying Electricity supply my doubts about this study program and the university have been denied. The program is new. The study process was sometimes difficult but very exciting. There are new disciplines, new material, interesting lab works. But studying here was definitely very interesting. This is lecturers’ accomplishment. They always helped us and explained the material.
Also I would like to say that the Faculty of Radio Engineering has a unique atmosphere due to its traditions and the history. I’ve already graduated from the university and right now I’m working at the enterprise Vitebskenergo, but despite that I still have in memory only the best years of my life that I’ve had at the University».
