About the program
Program: 1–70 05 01 «Design, Construction and Exploitation of Gas and Oil Pipelines and Storages»
The study program «Design, Construction and Operating of Gas and Oil Pipelines» started functioning in 1995 at Polotsk State University. The program takes both theoretical and practical approaches for our students to gain the knowledge, understanding and skills required by the petroleum, oil and gas industries. We use innovative teaching methods and an industry-oriented curriculum to teach our students.

Practical Training
Our students also undertake four practical training sessions:
Introductory Practical Training:
1st Academic Year, 2nd Term
Duration: 2 weeks
Activities provided: the training provides an introduction to the methods and practice of engineering design. Students are visiting Oil Refineries and Petrochemical Plants that allows them to become acquainted with the administrative and operating management structure.
Technology Training:
2nd Academic Year, 4th Term
Duration: 4 weeks
Activities provided: the training aims to consolidate and develop the theoretical knowledge obtained during the process of study. The faculty students experience individual and independent work in the specialization field. Students gain expertise in the following areas: basics of technological processes, schedule and equipment operating procedure.
Work Experience Internship
3rd Academic Year, 6th Term
Duration: 5 weeks
Activities provided: the training gives opportunities to study manufacturing technologies, oil and gas distribution and transmission principles. The training content encompasses the full spectrum of pipeline engineering – from facilities (design) principles and protection to oil storage. Students master their practical skills concerning trunk pipeline transmission facilities construction and repair. The faculty students inquire into the matter of metrology and standardization of trunk pipeline objects.
Pre-graduation Training
4th Academic Year, 8th Term
Duration: 4 weeks
Activities provided: Students gather necessary information and provide scientific research in their specialization field before presenting a Bachelor`s final project.
