On January 11, 2019, the photo exhibition “Moya Malaya Rodina”, dedicated to the Year of the small native land in Belarus, was opened in the exhibition hall of the Scientific Library at Polotsk State University. The Scientific Library of PSU organized the event.

The lecturers, students and staff of the university took an active part in the exhibition. They sent more than 200 photos. The best of them are published in our social media and on the official page of the library.

The photos represented at the exhibition are of diverse genres and geography. Small villages are presented together with big cities such as Polotsk, Novopolotsk, Vitebsk and Minsk.  There are photos of gems of the Vitebsk region nature:  Braslaw land; Yelnya wildlife reserve, which is the home to one of the largest lake and wetland areas in Belarus and in Europe; Dzisna, one of the most interesting small towns  in Belarus; mesmerizing waterfalls in Myory.

Belarusian landscapes with a rich variety of flora and fauna created admiration in the eyes of photographers who decided to show the familiar places from a new perspective. Every photo is filled with love to the small native town for its beauty and uniqueness.

The most active participants received commemorative prizes. Among them are:  Alexander Kiriyenko, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Technology and Methods of Teaching, Dmitry Zhukov, Associate Professor at the Department of Architecture, Tamara Zenkova, Scientific Library staff member, Anastasia Grigorenko (Faculty of Law) and Kristina Zaborskaya

The exhibition is open until February 18.
