The Law Centre was created on April 26, 2016 on the basis of the Faculty of Law of Polotsk State University.

The Main Activity Areas
1. Education services development promotion in:
1.1. Belarusian and international students training in the specialties “Science of Law” (Bachelor’s degree program); and “Law” (Master’s degree program).
1.2. Organization of professional development training courses and programs in the fields of legal activities.
1.3. In-depth study of certain law disciplines.
1.4. Organization of internships for students and lecturers in foreign higher educational establishments.
1.5. Development and implementation of teaching materials, e-learning modalities for the realization of the educational programs on specialists training in the sphere of law.
1.6. Other education services.
2. Scientific research initiation, supervision and organization:
Including joint research of inter-institutional and international levels, scientific events, held at the Faculty of Law within the framework of priority development areas of legal science.
3. Development and organization of the events within the framework of cooperation with public control and administration authorities, educational institutions, organizations and citizens for information support, experience exchange, implementation of structural units developments in the sphere of legal science and practice.
3.1. Organization of educational and real-life mobile courts to examine criminal, civil, economic and other cases by the courts of general jurisdiction in a specially equipped courtrooms using the videoconference system.
3.2. Organizing and holding joint scientific and practical seminars, conferences, workshops and other events considering the current issues of legal science and practice development and improvement.
3.3. Development of joint scientific and practical and methodological recommendations aiming at the research activity results implementation in order to improve the enforcement practices and rights realization.
4. Development of information environment that promotes legal awareness among the general public.
4.1. Legal advice of the Students’ legal support service.
The Students’ legal support service focuses on:
- Legal advice to the people;
- Promotion of legal awareness among the general public;
- Improvement of forms and methods of training the students at the Faculty of Law;
- Forming the skills of legal services delivery;
- Professionally important character traits cultivation.
Legal advice is the main form of work with the citizens.
4.2. Educational section «Street Law» activity.
Organization of events is aimed at:
- Informing different social groups about law and legal system, the role of law in the society, fundamental principles and values of the right;
- Development of practical skills in legal regulation realization;
- Promotion of legal awareness among the general public;
- Professionally important character traits cultivation and forming the skills needed for socially oriented activity of a lawyer, including critical thinking, professional interaction and problem solving skills in the field of law.
4.3. Providing lections at various organizations.
5. Contributing into the development of third party determination of disputes and other alternative forms of dispute resolution
Activity directions:
- Cooperation with third party court in Novopolotsk;
- Popularization of third party determination of disputes, informing the legal bodies, individual entrepreneurs and persons about the aims and peculiarities of third-party courts through consultation meetings and information materials made by third party court in Novopolotsk;
- Assistance in organizing the cooperation with the courts of the Republic of Belarus;
- Providing thematic seminars, including the questions concerning the practice of entering into an arbitration agreement, implementation of laws and regulations and assistance in making information materials concerning the questions of third-party determination of dispute and doing business.
6. International Cooperation
Activity directions:
- Building of consortia including European universities, submitting requests to participate in international educational and scientific programs;
- Organizing and holding scientific events, involving European universities and Russian Federation Universities, to explore European experience in the sphere of educational process organization;
- International internships, students and academic staff exchange within the framework of international projects.
