Background information
The history of the Department of Geodesy and Cadastres began on September 1st, 1976 after the establishment of the Department of Geodesy in Novopolotsk Polytechnic Institute which consisted of 11 instructors.
The Department trains the students in the programmes:
- Engineering Geodesy;
- Geoinformation Systems (land cadastral)
The graduates will be able to perform in different spheres of activity, including
- topographic mapping of any kind;
- estimation of civil constructions deformation;
- investigations and planning work on a building ground;
- executive surveys;
- land borders fixing;
- cadastre price estimation of real estate objects;
- survey of deformation at different objects;
- geodesic maintenance of designing, building and exploitation;
- computer software design that is necessary for different kinds of calculations and measurements;
- maintenance of geodesic devices, etc.
Our graduates are qualified as geodetic engineers.
The graduates of the Department of Geodesy and Geoinformation Systems work in scientific and productive organizations, industrial enterprises, as well as secondary and higher educational institutions of Belarus, Russia and other countries of the former Soviet Union, in Lebanon, Syria, Niger, Afghanistan, Yemen, Israel, Ethiopia, Mauritania, Congo, the USA, Sweden.
