On January 17, 2017 the team of Polotsk State University took part in a final stage of the Republican festival of youth university science – 2016 which was organized by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus.
Our university was presented by:
- Ekaterina I. Galeshova – The head of Junior Researchers Council;
- Valery M. Chertkov – a member of Junior Researchers Council;
- Igor S. Rusetsky – a senior teacher of the Department of radioelectronics;
- Maksim Y. Molotok – a student of the Radio engineering faculty.
The festival programme included many events directed to junior researchers and high school students.
E.I. Galeshova took part in a workshop «Youth science: support, perspectives, problems». During the discussion the junior researchers together with specialists from the Ministry of Education paid attention to the problem of commercialization of innovative products. The participants offered to hold seminars in order to promote and sell researchers’ products.
During the festival interesting experiments, robotics were demonstrated at 12 interactive platforms of six higher education establishments (BSU, VSU, BSUIR, PSU, BSTU, BrSTU) and several interactive platforms of Science Museum «Elemento».
Polotsk State University platform was introduced by the following exhibits:
1. «Passive tracking device with high radiance temperature».
2. Robot «Draftsman».
3. Robot «Litter sorter».
The First Deputy Minister of Education Vadim Bogush also took part in this event and pointed out that «during the Year of Science the Ministry is planning to award at least 100 grants for research of the actual problems».
