Training sessions for the delegation of Tashkent Institute of Finance
From 27 July to 3 August, the delegation of the Tashkent Institute of Finance (Uzbekistan) paid a working visit to Polotsk University. Our university and the Tashkent Institute have been cooperating for several years and we have a joint faculty. A unique programme of stay was formed for the delegation of partners. It allows to get acquainted with the opportunities and principles of the educational process in detail, to learn the rich history of the Vitebsk region, as well as to experience the spirit and traditions of Polotsk University.

Within the framework of organized lectures and workshops, the Head of the Department of Business Accounting and Finance, Logistics and Management Elena Maley and Associate Professor of the Department of Accounting, Finance, Logistics and Management Nadezhda Boreyko introduced the guests to modern ways of organizing the educational process, as well as the creation of an innovative environment of online education.

The delegation got acquainted with the history of Vitebsk region through the history of its centre – ancient Vitebsk. Right during this excursion, the guests from Tashkent noted the special attitude to the history and values of the Belarusian people. And they were finally convinced of this when they visited the most ancient city of Belarus – Polotsk. The unity of the past and the present, the combination of different styles, the ability to preserve the past for posterity - these were the qualities by which our guests characterised the image not only of Polotsk, but also of the Collegium building. The spirit of the past and careful attitude to the traditions of education did not leave our guests indifferent.

The final stage of the work was a round table with the participation of the Rector of Polotsk University, Yuri Romanovskiy: «We have a long and effective partnership with one of the most landmark educational institution of Uzbekistan – the Tashkent Institute of Finance. First students of the joint educational programme graduated this year. We not only educate specialists together, but also work on academic programmes. Today your internship in Belarus is coming to an end. It has combined not only educational but also a rich cultural programme. We are always glad to discuss initiatives and proposals, and we hope for further effective cooperation in the form of improvement of joint faculty, organization of internships and other joint educational programmes. This year we plan to launch a new project – the opening of a joint master's programme. We believe that this event will be the next step in strengthening our cooperation.
