On April 18-19, 2019 III International Scientific and Practical Online Conference “Sustainable Economic Development: International and National Aspects” took place at Polotsk State University. The conference was organized by the Faculty of Finance and Economics.

Researchers from the following 13 countries took part in the conference: Republic of Belarus, Russian Federation, Moldova, Republic of Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Poland, Azerbaijan, USA and China.

The participants of the conference discussed a number of relevant scientific and practical issues on the following topics:

  • Drivers of inclusive economic growth: practical experience of the Republic of Belarus and world experience;
  • Human resource management. Demographic and migration processes;
  • Current development of the world economic market. Development of financial intermediation institutions;
  • Social and economic aspects of transcontinental cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the People’s Republic of China;
  • Social communications: history, theory and practice;
  • Current issues of accounting, finance, analysis and audit in the context of sustainable development: international and national aspects;
  • Problems and tendencies of logistics development in current economic conditions.

On April 18 the participants took an active part in the following three sections:

  • Current issues of accounting, finance, analysis and audit in the context of sustainable development: international and national aspects, the moderator was Elena Maley, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Business Accounting and Finance, Logistics and Management. Grodno State University, Belarusian State University of Transport, Saint Petersburg State University of Economics got online with PSU. The paper “Research in Business Accounting: Status and Development Perspectives” prepared by Elena Abdalova, PhD of Economics, Associate Professor at Saint Petersburg State University of Economics, focused on the main problems of and prospects for the development of the accounting profession.

  • Economics, the moderator was Inga Zenkova, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Economics. During the section the following issues were considered: “Drivers of inclusive economic growth: practical experience of the Republic of Belarus and world experience”, “Human resource management. Demographic and migration processes”, “Current development of the world economic market. Development of financial intermediation institutions” and “Social and economic aspects of transcontinental cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the People’s Republic of China”. One of the vivid and memorable presentations was the paper “Economic Development of Belarus since its Independence” prepared by Peter Tumanoff, Professor at the Department of Economics at Marquette University (USA, Milwaukee). Professor Tumanoff highlighted the main features of the economy of Belarus at the time of its independence in 1991, identified current tendencies and problems that are inherent in the economy of Belarus and offered his recommendations to improve the economic system of the Republic of Belarus.

On April 19 the researchers participated in the section:

  • Problems and tendencies of logistics development in current economic conditions, the moderator was Oleg Dodonov, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor. Orenburg State University, Platov South-Russian State Polytechnic University (NPI), Russia, Novocherkassk got online with PSU. 20 papers were presented in the section.
