Traditionally, logistics is understood as the system of organization of freight delivery with the minimal expenses. Nowadays, the idea is widening, and logisticians are the specialists, who analyse all the business-processes and provide saving costs. Accomplishing such tasks requires deep knowledge in economics, customs affairs, ability to process huge amounts of info. You have to be a real strategic thinker with the whole amount of soft skills and ability to communicate. Logistics trains such specialists.
Training presupposes studying minors and basics of business management and majors devoted to the processes of transporting goods from the vendors to the manufacturers and final customers. The students learn the peculiarities of material purchase, their transporting and storing, distribution of the end product, and customs declaring procedure. They also study up modern information technology in the sphere of logistics, learn to apply the strategic approach to managing the whole supply chain and understand the circumstances of the modern business-environment, where they will compete.
