World literature (indicating specific literature) – is a scientific programme in which researches of regularities and tendencies of specific foreign literature development (genesis, dynamics, typology, traditions and innovation, genre-and-style features, etc.), its ideal and artistic, national originality, art directions, schools and methods, literary periods, problem and subject, poetic and style peculiarities of literary text, author’s creative individuality in the context of national and worldwide literary process in their interconnection and typological interrelationship with national literature are carried out.
The research subject is the most valuable literary events, printed and handwritten, literary materials. The special attention is aimed at studying world literary classics and its role in a modern world culture.
