The founder of the research school is V. Zheleznyak, one of the leading scientists in the sphere of information technical protection.

By order of the rector No. 384 of 26.03.2008 an interdepartmental "Research and experimental information technical protection laboratory" was established at Polotsk State University under the guidance of V. Zheleznyak. The main goals of the laboratory are research, development, implementation of the research results and academic staff training. The development team was being formed. Post-graduates K. Rakhanov and A. Barkov were among the first members. Master's student D. Ryabenko joined them further. The teachers and students of the university worked together.

This field was successfully realized in Ph. D. theses of K. Rakhanov, A. Barkov, V. Ryabenko, I. Burachenok, V. Chertikov. The further development of the research field continued in the theses of S. Lavrov, E. Adamovsky, S. Kharchenko, M. Baranovsky

To this date, the research school is equipped with modern devices for carrying out prospective scientific research of high precision in the sphere of high-speed, high-quality digital voice information via wideband channels and, in particular, via fibre optic channels, as well as for the fine voice signal structure research.

There is a valid license No. 01019/320 giving the right to perform technical and cryptographic protection of information.
