Teaching activities

Tatyana Gordeyenok possesses a high level of proficiency in the German language and provides consultations on various aspects of German grammar. Utilizing contemporary methodologies for teaching foreign languages, she also instructs on foreign literature. In her literature classes, she highlights the significance of interpreting the texts and encourages students to articulate their thoughts independently. Additionally, she is listed in the unified register of translators.
Since 1996, she has been working as a lecturer at Polotsk State University. In 2014, she was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor.
Currently teaches the following disciplines:
  • Practice of Oral and Written German Language
  • Theoretical Grammar of the German Language
  • German Literature of the 17th Century
  • German Literature of the Second Half of the 19th Century
  • Foreign Literature of the First Half of the 19th Century

Scientific interests

She completed her PhD dissertation on German Romanticism, specifically examining the theme of fate in the prose of Romantic writers. Her interest in Romanticism was sparked by the landscape poetry of Eduard Mörike, which eventually led her to delve into the concept of fate, a central element of the Romantic worldview.
She engages in literary research and has a strong interest in German literature spanning from the 17th century to contemporary works. Furthermore, she supervises the academic endeavors of graduate students.

nternational Experience

  • She completed internships at universities in Germany in 2001, 2008, and 2009.
  • In 2008, she established a collaboration with the Minsk DAAD information office, leading to the establishment of a DAAD lecturer position at the university.
  • From 2013 to 2014, in collaboration with the German newspaper "Südkurier" and the public organization "Circle of Friends of Polotsk," Tatiana Gordeyenok organized a journalistic competition for students at Polotsk State University called "Polotsk Writes for Friedrichshafen.
  • She conceptualized a Center for Foreign Language Studies and spearheaded the establishment of a certified center for evaluating foreign language proficiency.
  • During international seminars in Germany, she learned about active learning methods and project-based learning, later aiding in their integration into the university's educational framework. As part of the UNITELE international project, she is developing a course on "Innovative Teaching Methods."
  • Since 2016, she has been organizing German Weeks at Polotsk State University.
