On October 17, 2018, 2 more master’s degree students defended their Master thesis at the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria (Portugal) under the academic program «Double master degree in civil engineering». The program for joint preparation of Master’s students between Belarusian and Portuguese universities within the framework of the international agreement has been carried out for three years. Within the framework of the agreement, the students are awarded two diplomas of the two partner universities.
Maria Vysotskaya and Egor Zyabkin defended their Master’s theses at the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria (Portugal). The commission highly evaluated the research results and the preparation of the master’s students. It should be noted that according to the thesis defense requirements at the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, the experts should be the professors from other Portuguese universities. A professor at the University of Coimbra, the oldest educational establishment of Portugal, was the expert for the master’s thesis topics of Maria and Egor. The expert was in the commission and gave a positive review of the master’s degree students’ scientific papers.
Despite the fact that the defense was in English, the students have passed this exam.
