On September 27, 2018 the festive occasion in honour of the 27th Anniversary of Independence of Turkmenistan was held in a PSU campus in Mezhdurechye. The students from this sunny country were the initiators and organizers of this event.

The event started with the state anthem of Turkmenistan and congratulations on the Independence Day of Turkmenistan. Ashyr Jemirov, a 3rd-year student, was a moderator of the event.

The students and lecturers of the Faculty of Law immersed in the atmosphere of Turkmen history, customs and traditions, participated in different quizzes and were given small prizes for the correct answers to the questions.

The students cooked and presented Turkmen national cuisine.

Every person could try one of the kinds of Turkmen rice pilaf, mutton, sandwiches with vegetables, aromatic tea and the so-called ‘khvorost’ – a traditional sweet crisp pastry made out of dough that has been shaped into thin twisted ribbons, deep-fried and sprinkled with powdered sugar.

Students Tasting Turkmen National Cuisine

Turkmenistan is a country that surprises and delights everyone, has tasty cuisine and celebrates the holidays vividly. It makes people fall in love with this country, especially if they love Asian cuisine. The Turkmen themselves say: “Our land is sacred as the family hearth, pure as the Turkmen conscious, great as its pride and strong as its faith!”
