Gender experts from Belarusian universities cooperate with Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (Sweden). As part of this international cooperation, the Swedish partners provided gender experts from Belarus with a study visit to Vilnius University (Lithuania). Irina Shakhnovskaya, a senior lecturer at the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, represented Polotsk State University in Lithuania.
During the meeting, Belarusian gender experts shared their experience in teaching at universities of two countries and discussed joint participation in international projects. In their turn, lecturers of Vilnius University gave information about gender studies implementation and issues related to human rights in law disciplines.
The participants visited the Research Centre at Vilnius University. Research Centre staff shared their experience in research of certain aspects of gender equality, described peculiarities of teaching human rights courses at non-legal faculties. They also presented the ongoing projects run by EU countries.
As part of the visit, the gender experts identified the main aspects of work for 2020.
