On December 27, 2013, at Polotsk Collegium there took place a Christmas Ball, dedicated to the 10th Anniversary of the return of higher education in the historic walls. A decade ago, according to the President Alexander Lukashenko Decree, a building of former Jesuit College, in the Soviet years – a military hospital, were given in possession of Polotsk State University.
Since then much has changed. As a result of hard work Polotsk Collegium began to function as an institution of higher education again. Now here are the History and Philology Faculty and the Faculty of Information Technology, as well as speciality “Tourism and Hospitality” of the Physical Training Education Faculty.
The evening started with a brief excursion into the past. Historical personalities from excursion animation appeared on the stage.
Rector Dmitry Lazovsky made a greeting speech to the guests.
Then the song contest “Christmas illusion” was held. Lecturers and students of eight faculties presented songs from their favorite movies.
Results of the contest were announced by the audience voting. The first place was taken 2 participants: duo of the Dean of Radio Engineering Faculty Yury Grozberg and the Head of the Department of Higher Mathematics Alexander Kozlov and senior lecturer of the Department of Computing Systems and Networks Oleg Travkin.
Then guests were invited to the dance hall where organizers prepared for them fun contests and dances.
