On September 1-2, 2012, Day of Belarusian Written Language was held in Glubokoe, Vitebsk region. Representatives of our University took part in holiday: Vikentsy Tsigankov, Pro-rector responsible for social issues, Olga Pavlova, methodist of the Department of Educational Work, Tamara Zenkova, Deputy Director of the Scientific Library of PSU, Violetta Nikulina, Head of the Department of Library Service.
V.Tsigankov, O.Pavlova, T.Zenkova, V.Nikulina took part in an exhibition-fair-presentation of regional educational institutions devoted to Year of Book. In the exposition of the University next publications were presented: scientific work of the researchers, materials of scientific conferences, educational-methodological facilities, periodicals (“Vestnik PGU”, “Trudy molodykh spetsialistov PGU”, “Nastezh”), the information about the University, creative projects of the Department of Educational Work and the Museum of Science and Education of Polotsk region. Presentation materials also included a selection of publications, autobiographies, information about the writers, poets, scientists from our region: Denis Duk, Alexander Gugnin, Evgenia Bukotina, Irina Andreeva, Vladimir Lobach, Tatiana Bogoradova, Marina Shukhankova, Venedikt Grinev.
Day of Belarusian Written Language is a national holiday and it is celebrated annually on the first Sunday of September. Traditionally, the Festival is held in the cities as historical centres of culture, science, literature and publishing.
