Among the 14 teams, there were 4 from Minsk, 3 from Vitebsk, 2 from Moscow, 1 from Smolensk and 1 from St. Petersburg. The sponsor’s team consisted of the “Belarusbank” employees from different parts of Belarus. Two teams represented Polotsk and Novopolotsk: the most experienced team “Piligrim” and the team “Roza Vetrov”, consisting of PSU students and graduates:

  • Pavel Dolgi (a graduate of 2017, an employee at the Department of Geodesy and GIS);
  • Vladislav Dyakov (group 14-TGz);
  • Daniil Kuzhelev (group 17-HT);
  • Ekaterina Borisovich (group 17-DO);
  • Dmitry Valkovich (17-IT);
  • Pavel Urban (17-TG);
  • Roman Lomakin (a graduate of 2017).

The team “Roza Vetrov”

There were 7 original tasks for the game “Brainstorming”, 15 topics for “Svoya Igra” and 72 questions of “What? Where? When?” in the tournament.

It was incredibly difficult for our team to compete with other teams and answer the questions from well-known editors of a high level. Nevertheless, the main thing in the intellectual game is the pleasure and useful experience. The organizers expressed gratitude to the students, who watched the time and collected the answers, for their help in the game.

The other team “Piligrim” showed the highest result in “Svoya Igra” and took another gold medal! We heartily congratulate the team and wish them new victories!

The team “Prizraki Koshki” from St. Petersburg was the winner according to the results of both the game “What? Where? When?” and of the whole tournament.

The teams “Zoopark” (Minsk), “Sperva Dobeysya” (Moscow), “S. K. F.” (Minsk) and “Nemchinovka” (Moscow) with a legendary intellectual, Anatoly Wasserman, in the team showed high results as well. Our students did not lose the opportunity to take a photo with A. Wasserman, who played on the Polotsk land for the first time!

During the tournament, the excursions to Polotsk College and Tourist Centre, a walking tour around Polotsk, the lunch for the tournament participants and the work of the buffet were organized thanks to the PSU staff and the students from the Student Information Service.

The Buffet

The tournament organizers and guests were pleased with the disco hall of the Sports and Leisure Center. Moreover, the organizers claimed that the disco hall was ideal for holding intellectual games. Furthermore, they promised that the tournaments in Polotsk would become regular. We congratulate our Vitebsk colleagues on the successful event and wish them further progress! We are looking forward to new meetings and new guests!

The Club of Intellectual Games “Rubon” at PSU will help you to see the greatest experts and to compete with them. The 25th game season, an anniversary one, starts next week already. Follow our announcements in the official group VKontakte, come to the games, go for it!
