In March under construction nuclear power plant in Ostrovets was awarded the status of All-Belarus Youth Construction Site. It meant that students’ teams from all regions of the Republic would take part in extremely important for the future of the Belarusian people construction.

Polotsk State University sent in Ostrovets their best students who proved they were responsible and hardworking people during labor semesters of past years. Boys received working specialties studying at evening classes in Novopolotsk College of builders.

Students’ team “Dvina”

Students of Civil Engineering and Machine Building faculties work in students’ construction group “Dvina”. In honor of the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus, team was named Hero of the Soviet Union, Honorary builder of Novopolotsk Victor Eronko.

On June 30, students arrived at Ostrovets and on July 1, they started to work. Now the first news came from the construction of nuclear power plant.

Students’ team “Dvina”

Vyacheslav Shnitko, gr. “11-ПГС-2”, a commander says: “We build a demonstration housing, knit fittings. Here during the opening of NPP the President will press a button to start the plant. Our team has 13 people: three ones work directly at the plant and ten are engaged in construction of demonstration building. We work tirelessly. We live in two- and three-bedroom apartments. There are all conditions – new furniture, appliances, and hot water. The bus stop is in 150 meters from our housing, from there we go 20 kilometers by bus to the place of work.

Superiors promised us a salary of 7-8 million, in the case of fulfillment of the plan – to 12 million. While we give good volumes”.

Students’ team “Dvina” named Hero of the Soviet Union, Honorary builder of Novopolotsk Victor Eronko will stay at the All-Belarus Youth Construction Site in Ostrovets until 22 August 2014. We are waiting for further news and wish success to our students!
