On December 1-2, 2017 Kristina Savitskaya (a senior teacher at the Department of Civil Law of Polotsk State University) took part in the International Conference on Gender Studies «Identity, Alterity and Gender Normativity» that was held in Lucy Cavendish College (the University of Cambridge) in the United Kingdom.

The participants of the conference represented 27 countries: Spain, the United Kingdom, Italy, Australia, Poland, Serbia, the United States of America, Canada, France, Israel, Turkey, India, Czech Republic, Portugal, Romania, the Republic of Belarus, Pakistan, New Zealand, Japan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Republic of South Africa, Brazil, Colombia, Morocco, the United Arab Emirates and Tunisia.

At the conference Kristina Savitskaya presented the results of the implementation of the project «Gender stereotypes in the school environment and ways to overcome them through the experience of the Republic of Belarus». Within the project the sociological survey on gender stereotypes was conducted in 4 cities of the Republic of Belarus (Polotsk, Novopolotsk, Mogilev, Gomel) among schoolchildren of the ninth form. According to the results of the survey, the training sessions aimed at the preparation of interactive classes for schoolchildren have been carried out for students, participants of the Streetlaw direction from Polotsk State University, A.Kuleshov Mogilev State University, F.Skorina Gomel State University. At the moment the trainers from Streetlaw direction, who have completed the course, are holding classes for schoolchildren in their cities.

Lucy Cavendish College was established in 1965, initially as an experimental female academy for women graduates. Nowadays it is the only women’s college in Europe for students over 21.

There is the Anglo-Saxon Herb Garden, the library, which is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week except for approximately one week at Christmas. There is also the Music and Meditation Pavilion with a piano and a good range of books.

Students have an opportunity to attend a gym and a boat club.
