On October 16-20, 2017, the University College of Teacher Education Carinthia (Klagenfurt, Austria) hosted representatives of Polotsk State University for the second time within the framework of the International mobility week. Our universities have been cooperating for less than one year, but motivated teams of both institutes effectively work for achieving common goals.
The idea of the international mobility week is not only to inform all the participants about peculiarities of the international mobility week for students and staff, but also to broaden the area of contacts among all partner universities of the University College of Teacher Education-Carinthia. Within the framework of that week a lot of different events have been held aimed at the international socialization and team work which successfully unite the international partner team. Such events also demonstrate a model of methods and tools for academic mobility process.
Within the framework of the International mobility week the meeting with Tobias Schneider (the representative of the National Agency of Erasmus+ Education in Austria) was carried out. The partners discussed different spheres of the Agency activities, organization of the international cooperation within the framework of the academic mobility of the Erasmus+ Programme, also preparation of the joint application for the international project in the field of academic mobility between Polotsk State University and the University College of Teacher Education Carinthia.
One of the bright events has been attending classes in a primary school in Sankt Veit an der Glan where students, studying at partner universities, including Polotsk State University, can have their practical teacher trainings.
The whole visit to the University College of Teacher Education Carinthia has been full of wonderful impressions. The university is very hospitable, with a high level of teachers’ preparation. The education is focused on a humanistic worldview and idea of humanity. The university cooperates with more than 28 partner universities, including Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Hungary, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Chile and others. Polotsk State University is also one of the partner universities for the University College of Teacher Education Carinthia.
At the moment one of the students of Polotsk State University studying Foreign Languages at the Faculty of Humanities Viktoria Khodikova is representing our university in Carinthia and getting acquainted students and staff of the partner university, pupils and teachers at schools with Belarus, our traditions and cultural peculiarities.
The meeting with Elfriede Steiner, a mentor of the teacher training, also raised interest among the participants of the international mobility week. E. Steiner analyzed the organization of the teacher training for students, shared her working experience with international students.
The training workshop with Walter Hövel told about the peculiarities of students’ study process according to the European open education.
Our representatives and participants of the International mobility week will continue to develop the cooperation in the field of academic and student mobility.
