On November 2-3, 2017 the IVth Belarus-China Youth Innovation Forum «New Horizons – 2017» was held on the base of Belarusian National Technical University and the Universities in Shenyang (the Republic of Belarus and the People’s Republic of China).
The following representatives took part in the Forum:
- The Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus;
- State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus;
- Belarusian National Technical University;
- The Confucius Institute of Science and Technology at BNTU;
- The Institute of Economics of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus;
- Science and Technology Park of BNTU «POLYTECHNIC»;
- The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Belarus;
- The Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China;
- The Industrial Park Great Stone;
- State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs (SAFEA) of the People’s Republic of China;
- Confucius Institute Headquarters in China (Hanban);
- Huawei Technologies;
- Northeastern University (Shenyang, China);
- Leading universities of the Republic of Belarus, including Polotsk State University.
The main aims of the scientific forum:
- development of the cooperation between student union and young scientists of the Republic of Belarus and the People’s Republic of China for creation and commercialization of scientific researches and developments, mutual enrichment of culture and art;
- determination of perspective directions for the cooperation that promote the development of innovative processes in participating countries and regions;
- development of the innovative infrastructure in these countries.
The solemn opening ceremony has started the Forum with the participation of the major representatives, who contribute to the enhancing of the friendly relations between the Republic of Belarus and the People’s Republic of China, especially, in the fields of science and technology. After the opening ceremony the scientific sections continued the event:
- Information technology;
- Industrial design, construction, architecture;
- Sports engineering. Medical electronics. Reconstruction and rehabilitation;
- Belarus-China humanitarian cooperation;
- Intercultural communications.
Students and teachers of the Department of Economics, Management and Economic Theory at Polotsk State University Alexander Matviyenko and Elena Bogdanova have taken an active part in the section Intercultural communications – cooperation with the People’s Republic of China in the fields of science and technology that the opening of the Centre for Chinese language and culture at PSU confirms.
The PSU representatives successfully delivered their reports:
«Modern marketing communications in the professional sport as a sphere of the close intercultural interaction» – presented by Alexander Matviyenko (Teacher at the Department of Economics, Management and Economic Theory).
«Professional sport promotion through intercultural communications in the business sphere» – students Veronika Minchukova and Kristina Solovyeva (supervisor – Alexander Matviyenko, Teacher at the Department of Economics, Management and Economic Theory).
«Innovations in macroeconomics» – a student Mariya Knap (supervisor – Inga Zenkova, the head of the Department of Economics, Management and Economic Theory, PhD in Economics).
«The life quality in the global economics» – student Alexandra Golub (supervisor – Natalia Belorusova, Associate Professor at the Department of Economics, Management and Economic Theory, PhD in Economics).
The participants of the Forum had an opportunity to get acquainted with tai chi and wushu master classes, the tea ceremony, the activity of the Confucius Institute of Science and Technology at BNTU and also to visit the Industrial Park Great Stone.
