On April 11, 2019 within the framework of the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Modern Sports Law in the Republic of Belarus and Abroad”, National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus held a solemn ceremony of awarding the winners of the IX Competition for the best paper on the topic “Sports Law in the Republic of Belarus” that had taken place on November 19, 2018 - March 3, 2019.
The event organizers were:
- Sports and Tourism Ministry of the Republic of Belarus;
- Republican Public-private Partnership “Presidential Sports Club”;
- Public Association “Belarusian Republican Law Society”;
- National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus;
- Limited Liability Company “UrSpectr”.
Polotsk State University was represented by:
- Kristina Savitskaya, senior lecturer at the Department of Civil Law;
- Alexander Grinko and Olga Dunchenko, students at the Faculty of Law, supervised by Vitaly Maksimenyuk, senior lecturer at the Department of Civil Law.
The students were awarded certificates and Kristina Savitskaya’s scientific paper was awarded a special diploma for the jury had recognized her paper as one of particularly meritorious works.
The jury and the organizers of the event expressed their gratitude to Polotsk State University for the students’ and lecturers’ contribution to sports law popularization.
During the conference, the first instructional material in our country “Sports Law in the Republic of Belarus”, edited by PhD in Law, Professor Victor Kamenkov, was presented. This instructional material is a fundamental one for the “Sports Law” discipline.
