On April 27, 2011 Polotsk State University opened its doors for the Junior Researchers’ Conference ‘National and European Dimension in Research’. PSU Rector Dmitry Lazovsky in his opening speech at the plenary session emphasized the role of the English language in modern Science and for young researchers in particular.
Guests from Latvia, Russia, and Poland could appreciate the high level of the Conference organization. According to Wiktor Kasprzyk, the participant from Cracow University of Technology, the beginning of plenary session was very much surprising. The organizers of the Conference managed to combine the artistic performance of our students with the very official part of the event.
During the lunch the researchers appreciated live music performed by the students of Novopolotsk Music Lyceum. Such weekly Lunch-concerts are this year’s innovation of our University.
After lunch there was planned the excursion round the most ancient city of Belarus – Polotsk.
The work at the Conference is organized in two main directions:
A. Humanities, Law, Economics, Social Sciences, Tourism
B. Technology
We wish this conference to be prolific for all the participants and hope to continue this tradition next year.
