Traditionally, the academic year at Polotsk State University starts with the Knowledge Week. The first month of study is very important in the lives of 1st-year students. They start a new stage in their life, get acquainted with the group mates, campuses and rooms, university administration and academic staff.
The first meeting was held on September 3. The students received their student cards and record books, took part in the ceremony «Students Initiation» and visited the concert, where the group “Radiovolna” was the headliner.
On September 3-5, the “newcomers” had excursions around the university “Get Acquainted – PSU” provided by PSU student services.
On September 6, a karaoke-battle dedicated to the Birthday of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union was held at the disco hall of the new campus. The newcomers could see the creativity and virtuosity of the students and young staff as well as use the time profitably.
The Solemn Ceremony of Registration of the 1st-year Students at Polotsk College and excursions around Polotsk College for the students were the following events of the Knowledge Week. On September 10-18, 1st-year students wrote down their names in the book “Students of Polotsk State University”.
On September 13, an entertainment program for 1st-year students “Be with Us!” showed a bright and creative side of the student life. The presentation of student creative groups, studios and sections of Polotsk State University “From a Session to a Session…” took place during the disco.

On September 19, during the interactive game “IQ-quest”, the students competed with each other in PSU campus in Mezhdurechye.
An active student is always cheerful, healthy and less vulnerable to diseases. That’s why, on September 20, the track-and-field competition for 1st-year students was held under the republican festival “Sports and Health Week”. The next stage, a track-and-field race, will take place on October 1-2, 2018.
