Congratulations to Master students’ team of Polotsk State University Olga Sushko and Pavel Pankov who were awarded with 3rd degree Diploma at the International student competition «Do You Know International Financial Report Standards (IFRS) – 2017»!
After a successful participation at the International student competition «Do You Know IFRS – 2016» where our student team of the study programme «Business accounting, analysis and audit» took the 1st place among Bachelor students. This year the Department of Accounting and Audit, Logistics decided to invite for the participation our Master students’ team.
The competition was held from 1st February to 28th February and organized by Saint-Petersburg State University of Economics, «Deloitte & Touche CIS» and «Ernst & Young» companies, JSC «Mostek».
The competition gathered Masters’ teams from leading universities of all regions of the Russian Federation representing Saint-Petersburg (Saint-Petersburg State University, Peter the Great Saint-Petersburg Polytechnic University, Saint Petersburg State University of Economics, Emperor Alexander I Saint Petersburg State Transport University, Saint Petersburg State Agrarian University), Moscow (Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation), Kazan (The Institute of Management, Economics and Finance of Kazan Federal University), Vologda (Vologda State University), Novosibirsk (Novosibirsk State Technical University), Vladivostok (Far Eastern Federal University), Stavropol (Stavropol State Agrarian University) and also university teams from Poland, Czech Republic, Mongolia and Tajikistan. This year Belarus was represented by PSU team. The competition gathered 101 participants who presented 18 Bachelor teams and 19 Master teams.
The case for Master students has been prepared in English by «Deloitte & Touche CIS» and «Ernst & Young» companies. It included the reports about financial situation and reports about total revenue of several companies: Alfa Inc., Gamma LLC, Omega LLP, Beta Inc.
Working language of the case was English. The cases was prepared by «Deloitte & Touche CIS» and «Ernst & Young» companies. Jury of the competition checked presented works and evaluated them according to the following criteria:
- Correctness of the decision of the case;
- Argumentation solutions;
- Possession of IFRS terminology;
- Design work.
During the competition the participants together with their supervisors dealt with peculiarities of consolidated reports according to International standards of financial report. According to the final results among Master teams, the teams of Polotsk State University took the 3rd place!
The prize-winners will be awarded with diplomas of winners from Saint Petersburg State University of Economics, also diplomas and prizes from general sponsors of the competition – «Deloitte & Touche CIS» and «Ernst & Young» companies.
