The VI Annual Belarus-China Youth Innovation Forum “New Horizons - 2019”, that took place on November 12 – 13, 2019, was supported by the state administration bodies of the Republic of Belarus and the People’s Republic of China. The forum was held at Northeastern University (Shenyang), BNTU science and technology park “Polytechnic” and China-Belarus Industrial Park “Great Stone”.
The aims of the forum:
- to support the cooperation development and junior scientists of the Republic of Belarus and the People’s Republic of China in creation and commercialization of the scientific research results and developments;
- to contribute to cultural enrichment of both countries and friendship strengthening;
- to determine the promising collaboration areas and forms facilitating innovative processes development in the participating countries.

- Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the People’s Republic of China;

- BNTU Confucius Institute of Science and Technology;
- Republican Innovative Unitary Enterprise “Science and Technology Park of BNTU “Polytechnic”;
- Leading Academic Belarusian Institutions, including Polotsk State University.
The forum included a great variety of events:
- a workshop “Industrial Park as a Communication Link Between the CIS, Russia and Europe, as well as a platform for hi-tech companies' development, implemented within the framework of ‘Great Stone’, the main object of the ‘Silk Road’”;
- an exhibition «My Success Story»;
- a master class in calligraphy;
- a visit to China-Belarus Industrial Park “Great Stone”.
The forum sections were:
- Materials Science. Mechanical Engineering. Metallurgy;
- Information Technologies. Control Systems. Automation;
- Civil Engineering and Industrial Architecture of Belarus and China;
- Intercultural Communications and Humanitarian Cooperation Between Belarus and China.
Polotsk State University was represented by the lecturers of the Department of Economics who performed in the section “Intercultural Communications and Humanitarian Cooperation Between Belarus and China”.
Alexander Matviyenko, a senior lecturer at the Department of Economics, gave a talk on the topic “Human Capital as a Basis for Knowledge Based Capital of a Professional Sports Organization”. Besides, Alexander supervised a research in this area made by Valeria Lankina, a 3rd-year student at the Faculty of Humanities.
Elena Bogdanova, a senior lecturer at the Department of Economics, made a presentation “Labour Migration in Terms of Belarus-China Relations Development: Estimate and Prospects”.
The forum results were shown during a solemn closing ceremony in Great Stone Industrial Park.
