Online learning offers multiple opportunities especially to those who learn foreign languages. Students learning English at the Centre for Foreign Languages Studies haven’t missed one of such opportunities to join an online discussion with a representative of the United States Embassy on May 20 of 2020.
Peter Galus, Assistant Public Affairs Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Minsk, presented the topic “Higher Education as a Historical Driver of Meritocracy in America”. He spoke about higher education in the USA and how it helps citizens to expand their own capabilities.
Using his perfect presentation skills, P. Galus gave vivid examples, which sparked the interest of more than fifty people in the topic. Teachers and students asked him many questions and, in his turn, Peter G. asked them too and managed to find things in common between the education system of Belarus and the USA.
The students’ high performance is a vivid evidence that the teachers of the Centre continue to provide a high-quality educational process in the new form of training, and students, in their turn, make efforts to maintain and improve their knowledge.
Polotsk State University and the Centre for Foreign Languages Studies thank the U.S. Embassy in the Republic of Belarus and personally Peter Galus for the opportunity and useful information.
