Polotsk land is a real storehouse of historical treasures. Every stone, every building and street tells us about the rich history of this place. To study this history means to plunge into the world of the past, revealing more and more new secrets and riddles.
On the eve of Polotsk birthday, volunteers and our students from People's Republic of China visited many sights of the city to better understanding of its history and culture.

The organizer of the event is the head of the Department of Economy Inga Zenkova, who is a Polotsk-born resident. The opportunity to introduce the guests of the country to our culture and traditions is a great honor for her. The translator was Li Zhonghua, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor of the Department of Economy, who has been working at our university for a long time. According to his personal revelation, Belarus never ceases to amaze with its history.
Acquaintance with the city began with a visit to the Jesuit Collegium, the place where the history of the university begins. Amazing facts, rich history, unusual architectural solutions have become the companions of tourists. A talk with the mechanical head left special impressions. The philosophical answers from the wise elder did not leave the guests of the collegium indifferent.

The next point of the route was Polotsk Art Gallery, which contains a unique collection of frescoes of the Transfiguration Church. It was built by order of St. Euphrosyne of Polotsk, a human without whom it is impossible to imagine the history of enlightenment in Belarus. Especially striking is the elaborate work of restaurateurs who have preserved the wall paintings of various periods by careful layer formation.
Then, students from China were expected to walk around bright Polotsk. They found out what a unique letter exists in the Belarusian alphabet and why the center of Europe is located in Polotsk. She Danhui noted the unique spring scent of lilac that wafted from everywhere on this day, as well as chess tables in a picturesque park and children's laughter.
