Euphrosyne Polotskaya State University of Polotsk has been included in the 2025 BRICS Universities Ranking.
The geographical scope of the ranking has expanded due to the dynamic pace of the association's enlargement. Compared to the ten BRICS members featured in the 2024 ranking, the current edition has been joined by Indonesia, as well as nine participants that received the status of BRICS Partner States by June 1, 2025: Belarus, Bolivia, Kazakhstan, Cuba, Malaysia, Nigeria, Thailand, Uganda, and Uzbekistan. Consequently, the updated list of the best BRICS universities now includes 750 institutions from 20 countries worldwide. The ranking comprises universities that hold leading positions in global academic rankings and are top performers in their respective national rankings.
The Russian version of the pilot BRICS University Ranking is part of the "Three University Missions" family. The list is compiled based on 17 verifiable, objective indicators – subjective expert assessments are completely excluded. The broad range of criteria enables an objective evaluation of all key missions of higher education institutions: educational, scientific, and societal. The top 100, in addition to Chinese and Russian universities, includes educational institutions from ten other countries: India, South Africa, Thailand, Brazil, Malaysia, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Belarus, the UAE, and Egypt.
