On September 4-9, 2013, delegation from the sister-city of Friedrichshafen (Germany) visited ancient Polotsk. More than two decades strong friendship unites two cities located on the territory of different countries in hundreds of kilometers away from each other.

On September 7, 2013, PSU Day within “Week of Friedrichshafen in Polotsk” was held. German delegation visited Polotsk Collegium. For guests an excursion “History of higher education in Polotsk land” was organized.

After that guests were invited to the concert hall where presentation of the project “Polotsk writes for Friedrichshafen” took place. History and Philology Faculty students published their articles in the German language in a Friedrichshafen daily newspaper.

This project was realized thanks to great efforts of concerned people – the Head of section of German, candidate of philological sciences Tatyana Gordeenok from Belarusian side and the Chairman of the Society of Friends of Polotsk Rotraut Binder and free journalist Brigitte Gayzelhart from German one. A senior lecturer of the Department of World Literature and Culture Studies Inna Logvinova and lecturer Ludmila Semchenko made significant contribution to the Project.

During the film “Friedrichshafen. 200th Anniversary” presentation dedicated to the Anniversary of the city the audience learned about history of the city, its origin, development, about the ups and downs of the city and about modern Friedrichshafen.

Meeting ended with a coffee pause during which the participants were able to communicate and discuss what they had seen.
