On October 9, 2017 the public lectures with Alejandro Fuentes (PhD in International Law and LL.M in Comparative and European Legal Studies, a senior researcher at Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (Lund, Sweden), were carried out at Polotsk State University. Meetings with Dr. Fuentes at Law Faculty have become a good tradition and a significant stage of a prolonged and productive cooperation between Polotsk State University and Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law.
Dr. Alejandro Fuentes described the history, structure and competence of the European court of Human Rights within the framework of the topic «The European Human Rights System and the European court experience concerning minorities and other socially vulnerable groups of people». Dr. Fuentes gave a lot of examples from the European legal practice and their analysis. Students took part in a discussion and tried to give arguments, to express their opinion on considering cases.
During the visit to PSU Dr. Alejandro Fuentes discussed prospects of the further cooperation between Polotsk State University and Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law with Faculty administration. In particular, both sides have made a preliminary agreement about new series of lectures for Master students at the Faculty of Law next year.

Jemirov Ashyr: «English is a global language. Nowadays it’s one of the requirements for employment. Such meetings, as a meeting with Alejandro Fuentes, promote improving knowledge of the English language which is very important for me as a future specialist».
Egor Gololobov: «Lectures with Dr. Alejandro Fuentes were very interesting and useful. He used unordinary methods which involved every student into a discussion process. Students had an opportunity to express their opinion about every case.
