On February 20, 2013, in the conference hall of Polotsk Collegium there took place a seminar “Tourist brand of Polotsk” organized by the Department of Physical Training, Sports and Tourism of EI “PSU”.
The seminar was attended by Stanislav Krasovsky, the Head of the Department of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism of Polotsk City Executive Committee, who gave a lecture “Tourist brand: mechanism of creation, promotion method, effect of implementation”.
“How to create a brand? What is a brand strategy? What could be a tourist brand?”… Olga Trich, a lecturer of the Department of Physical Training, Sports and Tourism was looking for answers to these questions in her report “Creating a tourist brand”.
Irina Murzenok, a lecturer of the Department of Physical Training, Sports and Tourism highlighted unique history of the ancient city – from powerful Principality of Polotsk to invasion of Ivan the Terrible – in her report “Polotsk: past and present”.
At the end Stanislav Krasovsky read the Regulations of the open contest “Polotsk Brand”. Its purposes are:
- creating Polotsk tourist brand in graphic incarnation;
- formation Polotsk single image;
- activization of managing subjects and structures interested in promotion of the City in domestic and international markets.
Stanislav Krasovsky said any interested person could take part in this contest. To participate in the contest you should submit to the Department of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism of Polotsk City Executive Committee: 1. a request in hard copy and electronic format, 2. a project of graphic image of a tourist brand, 3. slogan and an explanatory note disclosing the content of your idea. The winner will be awarded a diploma and a valuable prize. The authors of the best projects will be awarded diplomas of the contest.
