The project “Street Law: Every Day Law” won the Second Prize in the competition “Lady Awards 2018” in the nomination “Social Projects and Charity” among more than 100 projects from Belarus. The Head of the project is Krystsina Savitskaya, a senior lecturer at the Department of Civil Law at Polotsk State University.
“Street Law: Every Day Law” is an educational direction that provides specialized training classes. The aim is to educate the public in the field of law. with the help of students of the Faculty of Law.
More than 300 interactive classes on different topics have been provided for schoolchildren, students, elderly people, juvenile prisoners of fascism and veterans of Vitebsk oblast.
Classes for schoolchildren were held in Novopolotsk, Polotsk, Vitebsk, Bobruisk and Svetlogorsk.
A competition of social projects was held within the framework of the “Lady Awards 2018” festival. The competition consisted of three stages: qualification, audience voting and public defense. More than 100 works from the whole country were presented there. According to the results of the second stage, the project “Street Law” came through to the final.
On October 13, 2018, the public defense of the project was held in Minsk. A lot of important and unique projects were presented there. Among them were: “Fitnes-Inkluziya” (Minsk), Voluntary service for children with cancer (Minsk), “Svyazhem Vmeste” (Gomel), Charity festival “Zarytsky Kirmash” (Grodno), Photo project: “Osobennaya Krasota” (Volozhin), Inclusive education center “Avocado” (Brest).
According to the results of the third stage, the places were distributed as follows:
- 1st place “Inklusia v Fitnese” (Kristina Kagramanyan) – the only project in Belarus on inclusive trainings for disabled people. They train together with other people;
- 2nd place “Street Law – Every Day Law” of Polotsk State university;
- 3rd place “Zarytsky Kirmash” (Tatiana Chistyakova) – a project aimed to unite local citizens to spend time together, communicate and discuss the problems of improvement and development of the city.
