On March 29, 2013, Polotsk State University Students’ Trade Union organized a trip to the Museum of Modern Belarusian statehood and an exhibition of live butterflies in Minsk.
Tours of our University students to the Museum of Modern Belarusian statehood had become a tradition. There was not the first trip organized for representatives of University activists. Not so long ago (in November, 2012) students had the same opportunity to get acquainted with the exhibits of the Museum dedicated to history of Belarus, a country’s achievements in industry, agriculture, education, science, medicine, culture, sports and international relations.
After official part of the trip students visited interesting and unusual exhibition of live butterflies located in the Museum of Minsk history. There were presented several dozen species of colorful beauties from South East Asia, Africa, Australia, South and Central America.
A butterfly is short-lived – from a few hours to a week, so the exposition is constantly updated. If you come to the exhibition again, you will unlikely see here the same specimens as a week ago. Butterflies come in cocoons from a farm in Krasnodar Krai. The cocoons are placed in the showroom. Thanks to it visitors can see with their own eyes how a chrysalis turns into a butterfly.
