On September 1, 2014, PSU first academic year students received documents confirming their new status, met with Deans, Vice-deans at the Faculties, Heads of Departments, student activists.
There was a welcoming concert on that day. Rector of Polotsk State University, Doctor of Technical Sciences, and Professor Dmitry Lazovsky made a warming speech to students.
The ceremony of “Initiation to Students” completed symbolic entry into a new life. The 1st academic year students Ekaterina Matush and Dmitry Golubev took from the Rector’s hands a symbolic “Key of Knowledge” and solemnly swore to be worthy members of the student society. The winner of the special prize “Source of knowledge-2014” in the nomination “Student of the Year” Yulia Sivitskaya handed to freshmen “Fire of Knowledge”.
The concert was started with the student anthem “Gaudeamus”. The group “TORYDANCE” was good at rhythmic dancing.
Levon Gziryan and pop dance studio “Zhemchuzhina” presented a musical gift to students.
Aerial Acrobatics from Radio Engineering Faculty student Anna Tsitovich charmed audiences.
Vocal singing studio “Nastroenie” with the song “Happy People” completed the department of performances of University creative groups.
Musical program “On the Waves of Eurovision” continued the concert. Participants of Eurovision Song Contest Yegor Volchek, Alyona Lanskaya, Yuri Vashchuk was starring in the University concert program.
