There was a welcoming concert on that day. Rector of Polotsk State University, Doctor of Technical Sciences, and Professor Dmitry Lazovsky made a warming speech to students.

The ceremony of “Initiation to Students” completed symbolic entry into a new life. The 1st academic year students Ekaterina Matush and Dmitry Golubev took from the Rector’s hands a symbolic “Key of Knowledge” and solemnly swore to be worthy members of the student society. The winner of the special prize “Source of knowledge-2014” in the nomination “Student of the Year” Yulia Sivitskaya handed to freshmen “Fire of Knowledge”.
