The Day of Knowledge was celebrated on September 1. Polotsk State University opened the door for 3705 students in their first academic year. They received their students’ IDs and met with Deans, Vice-deans at the Faculties, Heads of Departments.
There was a welcoming concert on that day. As traditionally, the concert was started with the anthem of the University. Rector Dmitry Lazovsky made a warming speech to the new members of student’s society and gave them a symbolic “Key of Knowledge”. Famous graduate Vadim Devyatovsky congratulated to students and read a poem of his own composition.
Students and graduates of our University Olga Gorshkova, Nikolay Kamenkov, Levon Gziryan, Julia Makarenko performed in the concert. The groups “Zhemchuzhina” and “Torydance” were good at rhythmic dancing. The KVN teams congratulated the new comers and the staff. The stars of Belarusian show-busyness, pop-group “Tyani-tolkai” was starring in the University concert programme.
