On April, 23, the day of the faculty of Finance and Economics celebrated its 23rd birthday.
The festive events started on April, 22 with the day of self-administration. At first, the grand meeting of the faculty Councils took place with participation of dean’s office, departments of faculty of Finance and Economics, groups’ supervisors.
Anna Lavrinenko, the dean of the faculty of Finance and Economics, a candidate of economic science, started the meeting with a congratulatory address. Then Ekaterina Solovey, the chairperson of Student Council of the faculty, presented a report «The quality of education».
The apogee of the meeting was the solemn ceremony of transfer of control from lecturers of the faculty to students.
There were chosen new heads of the departments, and then Anna Lavrinenko gave the key of control and dean’s gown to Ekaterina Solovey. Thus, the students had a chance to run the faculty for some time.
The festive events continued at the sports complex № 2 where students of each speciality took part in different competitions.
The competitions gave the festive mood not all the competitors but the supporters as well.
The festive activities continued on April, 23. Many students of the faculty of Finance and Economics gathered near the university and showed the faculty their love.
The main event of the Day of the faculty of Finance and Economics took place at the assembly hall of the university. The traditional concert was presented to all the lecturers and students of the faculty.
The first pro-rector of PSU, a doctor of economic science, a professor, Svetlana Vegera started the concert with an opening speech. All the guests greeted such a respected person and an excellent specialist with the prolonged applause.
The performance of Ekaterina Erakina opened the concert with a song «Beauty’s heart». After that the presenters announced the beginning of the «festive relay»: the departments had to congratulate their faculty.
The department of Business Accounting and Audit cheered up the audience with a very dynamic dance performed by students.
Then Irina Vegera, the dean of the faculty of Law congratulated the faculty and wished further prosperity and success.
The department of Logistics ad Management presented the fable «Student’s dream» about hard student life.
The first-year students showed a wonderful dance in «Burlesque» style.
Viktor Yakubov, the candidate of historical science, congratulated the faculty by playing his own romantic song.
During the concert all the departments of the faculty showed very unusual and amazing performances. The graduates also had a chance to congratulate their Alma Mater on the stage.
The concert ended up with the ceremony of transfer of control to dean’s office. The dean of the faculty Anna Lavrinenko congratulated all the lecturers, students and graduates with faculty’s birthday.
The song «Believe in a dream» and a huge name-day cake became the final point of the concert.
