On March 25, 2014, at English Language Department of PSU History and Philology Faculty there was held the first phonetic contest among Polotsk and Novopolotsk schoolchildren. School students recited poems and sang songs, demonstrating the jury their level of English proficiency.
Organizer was a lecturer of English Language Department Margarita Sirotkina. The main objective of the competition was continuity of school and higher education.
Representatives of Polotsk secondary schools # 9, 10, 16 and Polotsk gymnasium # 1 and Novopolotsk gymnasium # 2 participated in the competition.
