On April 26, the workshop «The interaction of juridical science and practice: state and perspectives of the development» took place at Polotsk State University in Mezhdurechye. The central event became a singing of the Cooperation Agreement in the sphere of education, science and practice and creation the first regional scientific and practical Juridical Centre in the Republic of Belarus.
The guests had an opportunity to discuss some issues during a coffee-break and then take part in the excursion around the building in order to get acquainted with conditions and possibilities of the development of Juridical centre.
In the welcoming speech the rector of Polotsk State University, doctor of technical sciences, professor Dmitry N. Lazovsky told about deep historic roots of higher education and science in Polotsk, Law faculty which is nowadays one of the best educational branches of the university.
The dean of Law faculty, candidate of juridical sciences Irina V. Vegera, who performed as a moderator, acquainted all the guests with an operation plan of the forum.
The chairman of the Investigate Committee of the Republic of Belarus Ivan D. Noskevich expressed his satisfaction with a productive cooperation with Polotsk State University. 147 graduates of Polotsk State University work at different departments of the Investigate Committee.
The director of the Public Institution «Research and practical center for problems of reinforcing law and order of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Belarus», doctor of juridical sciences, professor Vladimir M. Khomich also took part in the discussion.
Then the participants of the workshop told many kind words the PSU administration and Law faculty which decided to create the regional educational, scientific and practical Juridical Centre. They expressed their interest and readiness to take part in the realization of this important educational project.
After the presentations the solemn signing of Cooperation Agreement in the sphere of education, science and practice and creation of regional educational, scientific and practical Juridical Centre was carried out.
At the end of the solemn part the election of the head of Coordination Counsel of Juridical Centre and confirmation of the Agreement about Juridical Centre was held. During the open election the rector of Polotsk State University Dmitry N. Lazovsky was chosen as the head of Coordination Counsel.
According to the documents the Juridical Centre will unite the wide range of different directions and become the stage for further cooperation aimed at the creation of effective science and practice, innovative educational and research environment in the field of development of juridical education. The new structure is also directed at the increase of legal culture and further promotion of research directions, joint educational and scientific programs in law and adjacent fields.
