On May, 4-8 Polotsk State University successfully went through the procedure of state accreditation as a «classical university».
Irina Bondal, a member of commission, a pro-rector, responsible for educational work, and Marina Babitskaya, the head of the commission, shared their impressions and some results of their work at Polotsk State University.
Marina Babitskaya is the head of the commission which is responsible for holding a state accreditation at PSU, a consultant of the Quality Control Department for specialized secondary and higher education of the Department of Education Quality Control of Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus.
The correspondent: Good afternoon, Marina Arakelovna! You’ve spent almost a week at PSU. Can you share your impressions about our university?
M. Babitskaya: Polotsk State University is a young educational establishment of the Republic of Belarus. We’ve found out that it’s developed financially, it has well organized educational process and methodic support.
The correspondent: What exactly did you like in the organization of educational process?
M. Babitskaya: Polotsk State University succeed in programmes of exchanging experience. My colleagues evaluated the organization of educational process, equipment. We’ve noted working congruence of staff, the responsibility. The work planning is on the high level as well. The work of faculties and departments mutually complements each other, that’s why it provides a good quality of educational process.
The correspondent: You’ve visited many universities in our country. What peculiarities of PSU can you single out?
M. Babitskaya: The students of PSU are very optimistic about getting a speciality. They are responsible, hard-working and….intellectual. I saw your students during tests. We can really trust them with the future of our country. Your university can be proud of them.

The correspondent: Good afternoon, Irina Vasilyevna. Can you share your impressions about Polotsk State University.
Irina Bondal: I’ve heard a lot about Polotsk State University: students, material and technical resources.
Being a member of commission I had a great chance to learn your rich experience. I was impressed that the university is young. Soon it will celebrate its 50th birthday but you feel the traditions everywhere. History and modernity perfectly combine with each other.
I couldn’t imagine that there are such buildings in Novopolotsk! I was amazed by everything: resources, design. I enjoyed sitting in a cozy halls and rooms, watching university news on TV.
The organization of social, creative and leisure time for students is on the high level. I was at the concert dedicated to the Victory Day. I was amazed by students’ professionalism. That special atmosphere, songs, dancing really impressed me.
I’ve also visited a new exhibition but I’ve heard a lot about the ceremony «The Origin of Knowledge» in the field of education, science, sport, creativity and social work. It’s amazing! Your own «Oscar»!
The correspondent: What is the reason of a successful ideological and educational work at PSU?
Irina Bondal: First of all, it’s a team work. I feel the team and corporate spirit! There is no strict division between university lecturers, staff and students. They work and have a rest altogether.
