The 1st of September is a very exciting and long-expected day for new students who have just entered Polotsk State University. It’s the beginning of the long and thorny path, the first step to adult and independent life.
The festive events traditionally started with organizational faculty meetings where first-year students got their student documents, met deans and lecturers, supervising professors and student activists that meant the beginning of new – bright and fascinating - student life.
The festive concert was the final accord of Knowledge Day. It was opened by the participants of singing studio «Nastroenie» who performed a song «Our university».
The solemn ceremony «Initiation into students» was ended up with the symbolic entry of yesterday’s school-leavers to new life. The first-year students Elizaveta Palmovskaya and Alexander Mairko accepted from rector of Polotsk State University, Doctor of Technical Science, Professor, Dmitry Lazovsky the key of knowledge and took the solemn oath.
Rector of PSU warmly greeted all the guests and congratulated with the beginning of new academic year. Dmitry Lazovsky wished first-year students to plunge in university environment, feel call of the times, industry and also graduate from Polotsk State University with dignity and honour.
Vladislav Marudov, student of Radio Engineering Faculty, the winner of «Origin of Knowledge - 2015» in the nomination «Student Group of the Year» presented the fire of knowledge for first-year students. Worldwide student anthem «Gaudeamus» reminded of firmness and stability of knowledge base for centuries.
The colourful performance of pop dance studio «Zhemchzhina» continued the festive programme.
Students of modern dance studio «TORYDANCE», who are popular among student youth, gifted the inflammatory dance and storm of wonderful emotions.
The triumphal and original performance with hula-hoops presented the nominee of the special award «Origin of Knowledge - 2015» in the nomination «Talent of the Year», student of Radio Engineering Faculty, Anna Tsitovich.
The performance of students and creative teams of Polotsk State University, repeated winners of regional, republican and international contests and festivals, became peculiar visiting cards before big fair-presentation of student clubs and some other forms of student activity which takes place on September, 17.
The real gift from administration of Polotsk State University for the first-year students was the performance of Belarusian singer Sasha Nemo who presented unforgettable atmosphere of the wonderful beginning of new period in first-year students’ life. The singer performed several hits which caused storm of delight. Sasha Nemo sang the traditional final song with the audience and left supply of energy, positive and confidence in tomorrow!
Student life is time of the brightest and the most unforgettable emotions! It’s time of changes and grandiose plans for future! It’s time of new friends and, of course, first love.
