On May, 9, the Republic of Belarus celebrated the 70th Anniversary of the Victory Day in the great Patriotic War. The central event was the awarding of lecturers and staff of PSU.
Svetlana Vegera, the first pro-rector, a doctor of economic science, a professor, opened the event with congratulations to all students, university staff and guests.
The rector, Dmitry Lazovsky and the head of personnel department held the solemn ceremony of awarding university staff «For the contribution to patriotic youth upbringing».
The festive concert «Victory, Memory and Hope Day» continued the celebration after the solemn ceremony of awarding.
The song «Khatyn» professionally performed by the students of Novopolotsk State Musical College created a special atmosphere of roaring pain and rapturous joy of Victory.
Anna Sedlovets and Oleg Ephremenko performed «War waltz». Their delicacy and artistry were rewarded by a storm of applause from the audience.
Yuliya Dashenko, a student of the faculty of Physical Training presented a sensory and deep song «Officers’ wives».
The decoration of the concert was Yury Grozberg and Alexander Kozlov’s performance which became a proof of a huge creative potential of our university staff. The dean of the faculty of Radio Engineering and the head of the department of higher mathematics presented «A song about Polotsk» devoted to 23 guardsmen’s deed.
Anastasiya Sirota, a student of the faculty of Machine Building and Automobiles presented a very deep and sincere poem «Nightingales» of Mikhail Dudin, a poet-front-line soldier. Her performance was a culmination of the concert.
The next performances were full of life-asserting energy and optimism. At fist, Anna Tsitovich, a student of the faculty of Radio Engineering, demonstrated a very complicated dance with lots of hoops.
Then, the audience could enjoy lyricism of «Sevastopol waltz» performed by Yuliya Sivitskaya and Valery Begun, and, finally, look at the new collection of Fashion Theatre «Lively Paper».
Several video presentations told about seven wonders of Belarus, including Sophia Cathedral and Boris Stone.
The whole event ended up with an immortal song «Victory Day» performed by the audience and participants of the concert.
