About the Program
1-21 06 74 Modern Foreign Language (Specialized Translation)
Nowadays, translation is needed almost in all spheres of human activities. That’s why the translation importance is increasing constantly. Due to this, the demand for Interpreter Consultants is growing in the labour market.
Interpreter Consultant is one of the main specialists in any modern organization. The specialist translates scientific, technical, social and political, economic and other specialized literature as well as conferences, meetings, seminars and business correspondence materials and etc. from a foreign language to the native one and vice versa.
This program aims to provide the general understanding of interpreter’s and translator’s work.
The graduates are able:
- to prepare for translation, including information search using reference and specialized literature and the Internet;
- to translate specialized literature and documents from a foreign language to the native one and vice versa;
- to write annotations and summaries of foreign publications and scientific and technical documents in foreign and native languages;
- to prepare both thematic reviews of foreign materials and analytical information;
- to participate in business negotiations, meetings and other events with foreign partners;
- to cooperate with the specialists from related industries and foreign partners within the framework of professional competences and obligations.
Form: full-time (evening classes)
Study period: 17 months
Including:
- face-to-face training (including assessment) – 51 weeks;
- independent work – 20 weeks.
Final exam: state exam in:
- Spoken and Written English Language Practice
- Translation
Qualification given: Interpreter Consultant (English language)
