Teaching activities
In 2011 graduated from Polotsk State University with a degree in «English and German». In 2013 he finished his master studies and started the postgraduate course at PSU.
Currently teaches the following disciplines:
- The Swedish Language;
- The English Language;
- Mythology of Romano-Germanic Peoples;
- Literature of the Middle Ages and Renaissance.
Research Interests
- Ancient Icelandic Literature
- Literary Translation
- Mythology of Northern Peoples
In January 2018, Y. Papakul defended his PhD thesis on Peculiarity of Scottish and English Ballads about the Supernatural in the Context of the Regional Literary Tradition.

International experience
- In 2011-2015 he attended Swedish Language Summer School in higher public schools in Frest and Malyung (Sweden).
- In the summer of 2016 he finished the course for instructors of the Swedish Language, Literature and Culture in the higher public school of Bilstromska (Shchorn Island, Sweden).
- Y. Papakul supervises the international activities of the department in the Swedish direction, since 2012 he has been the contact person of the Swedish state institution “Svenska Institutet” in Polotsk State University.
Publications
He is the author of more than 30 scientific articles on the ballad literature of Sweden, Scotland and England, as well as ancient Scandinavian literature.
