RECTOR’S WELCOME SPEECH

Polotsk State University is an educational, scientific, innovational, and cultural centre of the region. It cherishes the traditions of Enlightenment, the origins of which go deeply back into the richest history of Polotsk land, and at the same time follows the cutting-edge trends in education.

For us the real priorities of today are training specialists for the real economy sector, which can be highly competitive not only in the Republic of Belarus but also abroad, carrying out research, which suits the modern trends of scientific development, creating a wide variety of possibilities for professional development.

Our University builds its strategy for effective interaction with youth, the region, partners in Belarus and abroad based on an active and open dialogue, cooperation, and co-authorship. With no doubt, the key to success of the University is a close integration with enterprises and companies of both the region and the whole country, and an effective response to their requests.

The reality of today’s world requires the University to form not only professional competencies of specialists but also such personal qualities as civil maturity, patriotism and sense of responsibility. e successfully defended his dissertation on "Geometry of the Poincaré Group" in 2008 for the degree of Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences.

He is the author of more than 80 scientific and methodological works and possesses the highest qualification category as a mathematics teacher.

Geometry of spaces generated by the semidirect product of Lie groups, symmetric spaces, and the geometry of homogeneous φ-spaces
Methods of teaching mathematics and computer science
