In October 2017 the head of the Department of Electronic Engineering and Energy at Polotsk State University Dmitry Antonovich visited the Faculty of Electronic Engineering at Novosibirsk State Technological University (NGTU).

Novosibirsk (Russia) is the third most populous city in Russia, the administrative centre of the Siberian Federal District. It is a cultural, business, industrial, transport and scientific center.

There are 37 higher education establishments in Novosibirsk. Novosibirsk State Technological University is one of the largest HEIs in the Siberian Federal District. In 2017 NSTU has been among the winners of the competition program by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.

The university has 17 faculties and institutes. The Faculty of Power Engineering contains 7 Departments – Automated Electrical Power Systems, Power Stations, Thermal Power Stations, High Voltage Engineering and Electrophysics, Industrial Power Supply Systems, Management and Economic Systems in Power Engineering, Workplace Safety.

At NGTU D.A. Antonovich visited the Departments of Power Engineering Faculty, got acquainted with the equipment in labs, the International Service activities and the University Library.

At the meetings both sides discussed study programmes. Yury Sidorkin (Professor at the Department of Automated Electrical Power Systems) shared his experience of using interdisciplinary relations in the educational process. The workshop was carried out where D.A. Antonovich and representatives of NSTU distinguished the direction of their further cooperation.

Thus, as a result of the visit the Cooperation Agreement between Polotsk State University and Novosibirsk State Technological University was signed. Within the framework of the Agreement both sides are going to develop joint research projects, experience exchange in the realization of advanced technology, academic mobility, master diploma of two universities.

D.A. Antonovich has got an invitation for PSU representatives to take part in international webinars that are carried out annually between NSTU and its partners.

The first webinar was held on October 24, 2017, and was dedicated to the development of information technologies in power engineering. The academic staff and students from the Department of Electronic Engineering and Energy (Faculty of Radio Engineering) took part in it and listened to the reports presented by the academic staff and Master students at NSTU and Mongolian University of Science and Technology.
