On October 2, 2017 the presentation of scholarship programmes of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) was held at PSU within the project «German weeks at PSU» with the participation of the head of DAAD information centre in Minsk Kerstin Müller and our new DAAD lecture Georgia Matthias.

Annually DAAD representatives offer a wide range of scholarship programmes for our undergraduate, master and PhD students who can participate in them.

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is a self-directed organization of higher education establishments in Germany: it unites more than 238 German universities and 107 student communities. Nowadays DAAD is the world largest funding body for the international academic exchange of students and researchers from higher educational establishments. It has a global network of regional offices, information centres and lecturers.

Polotsk State University takes an active part in the support of academic mobility and cooperates with the German Academic Exchange Service. This year PSU students – Sofia Slizhikova (Humanities Faculty) and Vladislav Obrompalsky (Finance and Economics Faculty) – also have had a great opportunity to visit Germany, find new friends, get acquainted with cultural peculiarities and rich history of this country, also demonstrate their professional skills that they’ve already mastered at the University.

The meeting was opened by PhD in Philology, Associate professor and the head of World Literature and Foreign Languages Department Tatsiana Hardziayonak who emphasized the importance of the academic mobility among students and researchers: «The academic mobility is an important aspect for undergraduate, master and PhD students at Polotsk State University. One of the most priority moments in a study process is having internships abroad. The German Academic Exchange Service is the very organization that supports and funds such projects».
