On April 3-4, 2014, in Polotsk Collegium PSU German Language Department students and their friends from other universities celebrated German language and culture Days. The event was organized by lecturers of German language section of the Department of World Literature and Culture Studies, with the active participation and financial support of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

Students communicated with native speakers on current linguistic and cross-cultural themes. DAAD lecturers – Carsten Myunhoff (BSU), Antje Sommerfeld (MSLU), Andre Boehm (GrSU), Julia Schmidt and Lars Schmidt (BGEU) – held seminars for festival participants.

Quiz about Germany gave students the opportunity to show their knowledge of the realities of the country, especially of German culture, politics and economics. Each of eight teams participating in the quiz, of course, wanted to get into the final. Two teams from Polotsk University won the honorable the 2nd and 3rd place. Team of Petr Masherov Vitebsk State University was at the 4th place. Students from Grodno celebrated the victory.

German language festival was the culmination of the event. Students and lecturers sang, recited poetry, showed scenic miniatures, and were able to demonstrate their translation skills.

Days of German language and culture once again proved that the German language was not only a language with a huge international potential, but also the language, the study of which brought great joy!
